Why are your prices higher than the prices of companies in the United States?
When making comparisons to US suppliers please remember that you have to take into account not only the exchange rate but also the cost of shipping from the US to Canada, also there is a mandatory 7% import duty on all batteries (often not declared by US companies) and as a guide an extra 1% for brokerage fees. (Minimum Fee of $20 with UPS).
From a Canadian based company perspective the volume of sales is much lower in Canada due to the small population in Canada compared to the US which in turn means the products are more expensive due to purchasing lower volumes from suppliers. Combine this with the higher rate of taxes that Canadians pay and the much higher cost of living I think it is easy to see why our battery is more expensive than a US supplier.
The benefit of purchasing from a Canadian supplier is when things go wrong. Batteries are a volatile product and occasionally they can fail. The cost of shipping your product back to the US would soon eat into the $10 saving. The other benefit is how fast the product can be delivered depending where you are located. All our prices are in Canadian Dollars and when you check out that is exactly the price that you pay. Their are no hidden brokerage fees or import duties.
